Mr. Adron Teddy “Whitey” Chapman, age 74, of 404 Bennett Street, Danville, VA, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at SOVAH Health Center, Danville, VA.

Mr. Chapman was born on April 15, 1943, to the late Theodore Roosevelt Chapman and Mamie Smith Chapman.

Mr. Chapman worked at Dan River Mills, as an electrician and later for Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was of the Holiness faith and a member of The Lone Church of God.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his loving wife, Fay Chapman of the residence; daughter, Lisa Chapman Davis and husband, Donnie, of Chatham, VA; grandchildren, Brandi (fiancé Joey Minter) and Hunter Davis; sisters, Eulis Powell (Eugene) and Betty Myers; and many nieces and nephews.

 In addition to his parents Mr. Chapman was predeceased by son, Timothy Paul Chapman and sister, Marcella Chitwood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Spencer, Pastor John Meadows, and Pastor Billy Hedricks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 404 Bennett St., Danville, VA 24541.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to friends, family, and neighbors, who were there for Mr. Chapman during his time of need.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to God’s Pit Crew, 2499 N Main St, Danville, VA 24540 and St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
