Allen Douglas Bowman, age 74, of 617 Oakland Dr. Danville, VA, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Roanoke Carilion Hospital, Roanoke, VA.

He was born on April 23, 1942, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Wise Bowman and Ora Allen Bowman.

Mr. Bowman was self-employed in heating & air conditioning. He attended Freedom Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Michael Allen Bowman and daughter, Brenda Gail Bowman Patton Dillion of the residence; grandchildren, Tammy Gail Patton and Alex Allen Bowman; and great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Nykole Patton and Victoria Patton.

In addition to his parents Mr. Bowman was predeceased by his wife, Edith Carolyn Bowman and brother, Maxie Bowman.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Barker Funeral Home with Rev. David Cartner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 617 Oakland Dr., Danville, VA. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
