Amie Leigh Mann Cotton left this world into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on July 15, 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Amie is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jeff Cotton, and her children, Thomas Jeffrey and Abbie Leigh Cotton. Also surviving are her mother, Saunders Lee Allen Lester, step father, George W. Lester II, sister, Tracy Nicole Turlington, brother in law, Jason Turlington, niece Lana Grace Turlington, and maternal Mam ma, Ina Allen Richmond; her mother in law, Iva Cotton, father in law, Ron Cotton, brother in law Todd (Sandi) Cotton, sister in laws, Melissa (Steve) Lees, Beth (Jacob) Kicker, and Lisa (Rolf) Meyer; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends.

Amie is preceded in death by her father, Ricky Lee Mann, maternal Papa, Thomas H. Allen Sr. and step grandfather, Lonnie Richmond as well as her paternal grandparents, Virginia D. Mann and James P. Mann.

Amie was born in Danville, Virginia on June 15, 1976. She graduated from Tunstall High School in 1994 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1998 before fulfilling her life’s dream working as a public relations specialist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL.

A memorial service will be held at Swicegood Funeral Home in Danville, VA on July 22, 2017 at 2 pm followed by a private burial.
