Barbara Jean Bragg Snead, age 81, of 900 Daphia Circle, Newport News, VA, died on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on January 07, 1935, in Danville, VA, to the late Fletcher Thomas Bragg and Althea Vivian Wilson Bragg.

Mrs. Snead worked as a cosmetologist before her retirement and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Richard Clayton Snead Jr.; daughters, Jeanette Snead and Vivian Loar all of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Keith Snead, Erik Snead, Blake Snead, Alyssa Snead, David Sanchez Jr., Alexis Loar, and Joshua Snead; and great-grandchildren, Keith Snead, Andrew Snead, and Kayleigh Snead.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Snead was predeceased by her husband Richard Clayton Snead Sr.; daughter, Joan Snead; grandson, Justen Snead; and one sister.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 01, 2016 at Schoolfield Cemetery with her grandson Keith Snead officiating.
