Bessie Lucas Salmon, 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Stratford House.  She was born in Rockingham County, NC on June 3, 1933 to the late Robert and Nellie Lucas.  Bessie lived on Garden Grove Street in Danville for over 45 years.  She retired from Cone Mills in Greensboro, NC as a machine operator.  Bessie was of the Baptist faith.  She will be greatly missed.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julian E. Salmon; sisters, Mildred Massey, Louise Hatcher, Thelma Myers; brothers, Herbert Lucas and Lindsey Lucas.

Bessie is survived by her sisters, Vivian Massey of Danville, Dorothy Myers of Pelham, NC, Elizabeth Fuller of Roanoke Rapids, NC; brother, Robert Lucas of Danville.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, November 30, 2015 in the Schoolfield Cemetery with Pastor Mike Myers officiating.  There will not be a formal visitation.
