Cathy Gillispie Buchanan, age 67, of Marietta, Ga. entered into rest after a long illness at her home in on January 23, 2017.

She was born September 19, 1949 in Danville, Va., to the late James T. Gillispie and Catherine Cassidy Gillispie.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert Buchanan of the home; sons, Christopher (Scott) Parsons, of Acworth, Ga. and Nicholas (Nick) Parsons, of Marietta, Ga.; grandson Christopher Scott Parsons II, of Acworth, Ga.,“granddog” Charlie as well as several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Buchanan is also survived by her loving brother James N. Gillispie and wife Linda, of Danville, Va.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buchanan was predeceased by her brother, Barry Jordan Gillispie.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the graveside at Floral Hills Memory Garden on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 12 Noon.  Reverend John Meadows will be officiating.
