Mr. Denny Lee Horsley, age 80, of 141 Capri Ct., Danville, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center after declining health for the past two years.

Mr. Horsley was born on September 17, 1936, in Danville, VA, to the late Pearlie Thomas Horsley and Carrie Cochran Horsley. Mr. Horsley retired from Food Lion and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed vacationing at Kure Beach and raising a garden.

Mr. Horsley is survived by his wife Masie Lee Horsley, of the home; daughters, Karri Fields (Keith) of Danville, VA and Teresa Dunlow of Roanoke Rapids, NC; son, Lee Horsley (Lori) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; grandchildren, Colby Williams, Kaleb Dunlow, Jacob Dunlow, and Jovi Horsley; step-grandchildren, Bryson Fields and Coleman Fields; three brothers, Curtis Horsley (Nancy), Donnie Horsley (Kathy) and Glen Horsley (Fannie); also, sister-in-law, Shirley Horsley.

In addition to his parents Mr. Horsley was predeceased by two sisters, Ila Hardy (Otis) and Peggy Echols (Glen); and one brother, Billy Horsley.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Danville/Pittsylvania Cancer Association, 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA  24541.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2 pm at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Yeaman and Dr. Charles Scearce officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. At other times the family will be receiving at the residence.
