Edith Lois Banks Hutcherson, 96, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center.  Edith was born in Independence, VA on September 1, 1918 to the late William Joseph Banks, Sr. and the late Bessie Reynolds Banks.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ophus Aron Hutcherson, Sr.; son, Charles William Hutcherson; brothers, Wayne Hansel, Elroy, William Joseph, Jr.; sisters, Eunice, Pauline, Christine and Juanita.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Ophus Aron Hutcherson, Jr. and wife, Mable, Betty H. Terry and husband, Richard, Kenneth Ray Hutcherson and wife, Sibyl; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Piney Forest Seven Day Adventist Church with Rev. Daniel Royo officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens.
