Garland Wesley Walker, age 89, of 605 Pocahontas Road, Danville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Walker was born on August 17, 1927, in Danville, VA, a son of the late Clarence E. Walker and Carmen Hull Walker. He was married to Rebecca Nelson Walker who survives of the residence. He was a graduate of Schoolfield High School, Class of 1946. He also attended Danville Community College. Mr. Walker retired from Carolina Power in Roxboro, NC. He was a servant of Jehovah and was an Elder of the Highland Heights Congregation Jehovah’s Witnesses.     

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Diane Pool (Brian) of Ozark, AL, and Deborah Johnston of Eden, NC; two sisters, Mildred Hopkins and Elaine Gunn of Danville, VA; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be conducted Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Highland Burial Park with Elder John Searcy officiating.
