We are sad to announce the death of our beloved Gina Walker Durham, 65, of 148 New Walter Mill Road, Providence, North Carolina. She was born November 22, 1949 in Danville to the late Burton Mack Walker and June Hayes Walker, and on August 25, 2015 entered into the presence of her Lord at UNC Chapel Hill NC.  She was a loving mother and wife to her husband and children and especially to her loving grandchildren.  She loved to cook and visit with family. She loved to sit on the porch and watch the birds. She nurtured, loved and enjoyed her flowers. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of forty six years Grover Thomas Durham, and a sister; Hollie Walker Lewis. She is survived by Daughter; Kimberly Alice Durham of Providence, NC. Son; Chad Nathanial Durham of Blanch, NC. Step-Children; Tammy Durham Neff, Thomas Wayne Durham.  Grandchildren; Zachary Tyler Durham, Nicholas Austin Bennington, and Caleb Lane Durham.  Brothers; Karey Walker, and Debbie of Ohio, Kenneth Walker of Florida.  Sisters; Pamela Walker Dooley and Jim of Danville, Robin Walker Mims of Danville.  Gina Retired after 40 years of service at Dan River Mills. Family will receive friends at Barker Funeral Home Chapel Friday, August 28, 2015, 2-3 p.m.  A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the UNC Children’s Hospital in the name of Gina Walker Durham. Barker Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Durham family.
