Mr. Glen G. Kendrick, age 62, of 30 Southern Street, Danville, VA, died on September 18, 2016, at Danville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 30, 1953, in Danville, VA, to the late John Kermit Kendrick and Janice Carolyn Oakes Kendrick.

Mr. Kendrick worked as a Supervisor at Dan River Mills, Inc. for many years before his retirement, and he was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, friends, and animals, but most of all he loved his grandson, Bruce who was the light of his life, which keep him fighting for his life during 24 years of dialysis.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Willhite Kendrick of the residence; daughters, Joy Kendrick and Danielle Kendrick; grandson, Bruce Kendrick all of Danville, VA; brother, Michael Donald Kendrick and wife Fay of Dry Fork, VA; sisters, Glenda K. Bowers and husband Will of Reidsville, NC and Cynthia K. Brock of Chatham, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Forest Lawn Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 30 Southern Street, Danville, VA. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery.
