Glend Linwood Moser, age 81, of 1284 Jones Mill Road, Chatham, VA, received his angel wings on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Gretna Medical Center, after a long decline in health.

Mr. Moser was born on June 16, 1936, in Pittsylvania County, son of the late, Odell Moser and Lucy Moser Scearce.

He lived most of his life in Pittsylvania County and was employed with the City of Danville Parks and Recreation, until his retirement. Mr. Moser was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Mr. Moser is survived by three sisters; Jeannette Giles, Shelby Perkins, and Gladys Lumpkin; children; George Moser, of Charleston SC, Patricia Chilton (Danny), of Keeling, VA, Teresa Bridges, of Chatham, and Vickie Parker (Steve), of Salisbury, NC; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; step-sons; Leon Clifton (Grace) and Lee Clifton (Teresa); step-daughters; Angie Clifton, Patricia Mitchell (Roger), Lisa Clifton, and Elaine Kirks; twenty-six step-grandchildren; and twenty-eight step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Moser was predeceased in death by his wife, Lessie Clifton Moser; brother, Harold Moser; sister, Virginia Barbour; and step-daughter, Brenda Clifton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 04, 2018 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Moser officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the residence of his daughter, Teresa Bridges, 1284 Jones Mill Rd, Chatham, VA.
