Mr. Harold Melvin Hastings, age 85, of 3614 US Hwy 29, Danville, VA, passed away on Saturday, October 07, 2017 at Chatham Rehab and Health Care Center.

He was born on January 16, 1932, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to the late Daniel Campbell Hastings, Sr. and Lemma Giles Hastings.

Mr. Hastings worked at Abercrombie Oil Company, as a delivery driver and was a member of Blairs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hastings, of the residence; children, Vicky, Harold Jr., Ricky, Cindy, and Tracy; three grandchildren; and siblings, Barbara Hastings Edmunds, Kate Hastings Moss, Daniel “D. C.” Campbell Hastings, Jr., and Jerry Wayne Hastings.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
