Helen Moore, age 86, of 202 Laurel Woods Dr. Danville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Roman Eagle Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Moore was born on August 24, 1931, in Chatham, VA, a daughter of the late Thomas A. Moore and Bessie Mitchell Moore. She lived most of her life in Danville, VA, where she was employed at Durham Hosiery and was a member of Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Moore was married to the late Curtis Thomas Moore who preceded her in death.  

Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Karen Thompson (Floyd), of Danville, VA; son, Gary A. Moore (Andrea), of Chatham, VA; daughter-in-law, Linda Moore; grandchildren,  Lisa Pyrtle, Wayne Moore, Brooke Moore, Jacob Thompson, Justin Thompson, Lauren Sparks, and Will Moore; great-grandchildren, Evan Brooks, Cara Brooks, Liam Thompson, Landry Thompson, Ryan Stewart, and Presley Sparks; also, many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband Mrs. Moore was also predeceased by her son, Thomas Wayne Moore; brothers, Raymond Moore, John Moore and Gilmer Moore; sisters, Lucille Smith and Marie Gregory.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Mike Hearp officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 16300 Mt Cross Rd, Dry Fork, VA 24549. At other times the family will be at 202 Laurel Woods Dr. Danville, VA. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church building fund or the Central Boulevard Church of God Momentum Youth Group fund.
