Irma Christine Daniel Goard, age 96, of 6520 Dry Fork Rd., Dry Fork, VA, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Autumn Care of Altavista.

Mrs. Goard was born on April 23, 1920, in Dry Fork, VA, a daughter of the late Harvey Daniel and Lizzie Goard Daniel. She lived most of her life in Dry Fork and was employed at Dan River Mills where she worked as a weaver. Mrs. Goard was married to Acrey Goard who predeceased her. She was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mrs. Goard is survived by a daughter, Melba Boggs (Gary), of Hurt, VA; two grandchildren, Pam Power (Billy, who is deceased) of Gretna, VA, and Janet Ribeiro (Steve) of Rhode Island; two great grandchildren, Shauna Wyatt (Corey) of Gretna, VA and Julie Delappe (Jason) of Altavista, VA; one great great grandchild, Layton Wyatt; and a sister, Edith Daniel of Dry Fork, VA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Tom Daniel, Harvey Daniel, Willard (Dave) Daniel, Charles (Pete) Daniel and Clarence Daniel; and her sisters, Wilma Wells and Eva Daniel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church at with Rev. Gerald Kelly, Rev. Roger Collins and Rev. Cecil Coates officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Emmanuel Pentecostal holiness Church, 3612 Dry Fork Rd., Dry Fork, VA, 24549.
