Janice Dalton Powell, age 66 of 600 Main Street, Danville, Virginia, died on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Sovah - Danville.

Mrs. Powell was born on, March 12, 1951, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Carl Dalton and Margaret C. Allen who predeceased her on October 29, 2017. She lived most of her life in Danville, VA, where she was a member of State Line Baptist Church.

Mrs. Powell is survived by a son, Roger Lee Turner (Rockie); two sisters, Nancy Quisenberry (Ivan) and Melissa Dalton; two brothers, Billy Dalton, and Fred Dalton; step-father, Frank Allen; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robin Dalton.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence of her sister, Melissa Dalton, 135 Arbor Place, Danville, VA, 24540.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Danville, 308 Craighead St, Suite 104, Danville, VA 24541.
