Jimmy E. Barksdale, age 67, of 181 City View Court, Ringgold, VA, died on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at SOVAH – Danville.

Mr. Barksdale was born on January 23, 1950, in Danville, VA, a son of the late Cecil Barksdale and Helen Weatherford Barksdale. He lived most of his life in Ringgold, VA, where he was employed as a foreman with Dimon Tobacco Company. He was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Barksdale is survived by his fiancé, Synthia Cook and daughter, Savannah Barksdale, of the residence; children, James E. Barksdale and Timothy Barksdale; one granddaughter, Olivia Young; brother, Ronald W. Barksdale; niece, Amber Dawn Easley; step-son, Michael Cook, of Keeling; and step-daughter, Melinda Cook, of the residence.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ricky Lee Barksdale; and a sister, Lisa Dawn Easley.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
