Karen Hazelwood, age 48, of 162 Northwest Blvd, Danville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Danville Regional Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Born in Colorado Springs, CO, on August 19,1968, she was the daughter of Venice Rocchi (Joe Land) who survives her, and John Archer Hazelwood, who predeceased her. Karen truly lived life to the fullest. Her pleasures in life were attending Stonewall Therapeutic Recreation Center and SSVA, Chocolate, dancing, bowling and spending time with family. She attended St. Luke's UMC CTR, and the Salvation Army;  she was also active in the Unified Bowling League. In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her sisters, Kelly Hazelwood Gravely (Ricky) of Clemmons, NC, and Kristi Hazelwood (Andrew Hodnett) of Charlotte, NC. Other survivors include nephews, Cameron, Tanner and Maddox Gravely, nieces, Megan and Alyssa Wedley, and numerous family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lee Ricketts officiating. Interment will follow in the Guill family cemetery on Lawless Creek Road, in Blairs. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at Barker Chapel.
