Kathy Sims Prior, age 60, of 122 Glen Oak Drive, Danville, VA, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.

She was born on June 16, 1956, in Danville, VA, to the late Alfred Estes Sims Sr. and Lucille Berry Sims.

Mrs. Prior was a homemaker, and she was a member of Central Boulevard Church of God. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William Prior; children: Angela Renee Hoover and husband John Murphy, of Ringgold, VA; Amy Haley and husband Doug, of Eden, NC; and Timothy Prior and wife Britney, of Danville, VA; grandchildren:  Meagan, Jonathan Jr., Raiden, Amber, Samaya, Cameron, and Sydney; brothers: Edward Sims, James Sims, and Alfred Sims Jr.; sister, Peggy Tate; and feline companion, Pippy.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Prior was predeceased by her brother, Michael Sims.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Central Boulevard Church of God with Rev. John Meadows, Pastor Roger Ewing, and Apostle Tonya Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the church. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her son Timothy, 2715 Westover Dr., Danville, VA 24541.
