Lillian (Jones) Hamlett

Mrs. Lillian Jones Hamlett, age 91, of Danville, passed away on Monday, February 05, 2018 at SOVAH Health.

She was born on September 04, 1926, in Danville, VA, to the late David Jones and Mary Lou Jones.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Hamlett worked at Dan River Mills and Corning Glass and was a member of State Line Baptist Church.

She is survived by grandchildren, Jeff Pruitt and Larry Pruitt, Jr. and wife, Kelly; great-grandchildren, Jessica Pruitt Crowder, “Hunter Wayne” Pruitt, and Larry Wayne “Little Wayne” Pruitt, III; great-great-granddaughter, Angel Nicole Crowder; and many other family members.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Hamlett was predeceased by her husband, Roy C. Hamlett; daughter, Sandra Hamlett Pruitt; siblings, Charlie Jones, Jathina Neeley, Maggie Dehart, Leroy Jones, and Carol Lawson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 08, 2018 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p .m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 07 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hamlett Family Cemetery located on Holland Rd.
