Lodema Jackson Nelson, 91, of 408 Cedarbrook Drive, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at her home.  She was born on March 1, 1924 in Lansing, Michigan.  Lodema was a member of Stokesland Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker that loved her family dearly.  She will be greatly missed.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Samuel Nelson.

She is survived by her daughters, Jacqulyn Gambrell and Bonita Purnell; grandchildren, Tera Jennings, Samantha Bray; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Macey McGhee, Peyton Tipton, Jacob Monahan, Cortez and Emilio Santana; sister, Beverly Hath.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 6-8pm in Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel and other times at her home.  A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Stokesland Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Vickers officiating.  Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
