Lois Custer Hanvey Moore, age 92, of 2526 North Main St., Danville, VA, died on Sunday, February 07, 2016 at her residence.

She was born on January 13, 1924, in Gretna, VA, to the late George Kelly Custer and Kate Hall Custer Guest.

Mrs. Moore worked as a seamstress before her retirement and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by sons, Kenneth Lee Hanvey of Blairs, VA and James Stanley Hanvey of Danville, VA; sisters, Earler C. Adkins of Pelham, NC, Louise C. Pearson, Carolyn C. Dalton, and Peggy C. Shivley all of Danville, VA; step-brother, Charles M. Guest Jr. of Greensboro, NC, one grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Moore was predeceased by her husband, Sterling Moore; brother, George Onyx Custer; sister Geneva C. Adkins; and step-sister, Virginia Custer Bove.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery.
