Mary Judith (Holland) Conklin

Mary Judith (Holland) Conklin, age 67, of 1334 Myrtle Avenue, Danville, VA, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Lewis Gale Cancer Center in Salem, VA, after battling Brain and Lung cancer.

Mary was born the only child to the late Mr. and Mrs. Holland of Mount Vernon, NY, on November 27, 1950. She grew up in Westchester County, and at an early age she became a Catholic and remained a loyal catholic until death. Mary was very well educated earning three Masters Degrees and working as a writer and DJ, throughout Westchester County and Connecticut.

Mary is survived by her husband Jesse W. Dabbs, Sr. and one son, Jesse Dabbs, Jr. of Peekskill, NY; a devoted niece, Laverne Lester of Danville, VA; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Conklin (1997).

Swicegood Funeral Service will help Jess Dabbs, Sr. honor Mary’s wishes to be cremated and later be in New York with her son Thomas Conklin. We ask that you send all flowers and card to the residence.
