Mrs. Mary Beatrice Walker, age 82, of 1744 Old Mayfield Rd, Danville, VA, died on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Gretna Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Walker was born on December 28, 1934, in Danville, VA, to the late Buster Pierce and Evelyn Pierce. Mrs. Walker was of the Baptist faith.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory is her son, Danny R. Johnson; daughter, Tammy Wiles; grandchildren, Shannon Mize, Bobbie Jo Cifers, Amanda Wiles, Jason Johnson, and Kristi Mott; great-grandchildren, Bailey Mize, Shane Mize, Jacob Cifers, Benjamin Cifers, Jadeyn Wilhite, and Sydney Mott.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Walker was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Preston Walker; son, Arnold Walker; sister, Christine Pierce and brother, Calvin Pierce.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Brian Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
