Mildred (Daniel) Hughes

Mrs. Mildred Daniel Hughes, age 72, of 979 Mountain Hill Road, Ringgold, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at SOVAH-Danville.

Mrs. Hughes was born on November 1, 1945 in Axton, VA, a daughter of the late, Milard Daniel and Eva Barker Daniel. She was married to Kelly Bobby Hughes who preceded her in death on February 7, 1978.  Mrs. Hughes was a member of River Bend Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the last of her generation.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hughes (Billy Joe Thompson, Jr.); grandson, Bobby Wyatt Thompson; adopted daughter, Margie Pigott; and her canine companion, Cheech.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hughes was predeceased by brothers, Milard E. Daniel “Bro” and Frank Daniel “Poochie”

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Hughes Chaney and Rev. Harvey Hazelwood officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 979 Mountain Hill Rd., Ringgold, VA.
