Mrs. Nell Elizabeth Denny Winstead, age 82, of 233 Stonegate Way, Danville, VA, died on October 24, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, VA.  Mrs. Winstead was born on October 23, 1933, in Leasburg, NC to the late Dorsey Denny and Odell Brann Denny.  She worked at C & P Telephone Company as an Operator and Secretary before her retirement and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and the Telephone Pioneers.

Mrs. Winstead is survived by her husband Archie Glenn Winstead; two sons, Carl G. Winstead of Pelham, NC and Mark T. Winstead (Kelly P. Winstead) of Danville, VA.; four Grandchildren, John Dalton, Laura Tran, Mary Katherine Baugh, and Brently Winstead; six Great-grandchildren, Sydnee, Colin, Joel, Leah, Patrick and Carter; and one sister, Hazel Denny Winstead of Kannapolis, NC.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Winstead was predeceased by her sister, Imogene Lunsford and her brother, Mitchell Denny.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Dr. Doug Barber. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
