Patricia “Pat” Stewart Burke, age 73, left her earthly body to go to her heavenly home to join her loved ones on Saturday, November 12, 2016.  She resided with her nephew and his wife, Larry and Angel Koral within three months of her declining health.

Ms. Burke was born on August 6, 1943, in Winterhaven, FL, the daughter of the late William Aubrey Stewart and Flossie Pruitt Stewart. She lived most of her life in Danville and Pittsylvania County where she retired from Dan River Mills after forty years.

Ms. Burke is survived by four sisters, Ann Stewart Witt, Elaine Stewart Harper, Joan Stewart Gray and Diane Stewart Williams. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved with all her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, William “Bill” Albert Stewart and two sisters, Dolores Briggs and Gloria Hayes.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Barker Funeral Home, with the Reverend Daryl Joyce officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at her sister Elaine’s residence, 1467 Myrtle Avenue.
