Pauline English, 86, of 118 Lowell Street, died at her residence on Friday, January 13, 2012. Born in
Pittsylvania County on March 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Robert David English and
Zula Woody English. She was a member of Third Avenue Congregational Christian Church and she
retired from Dan River, Inc. after 42 years of service.
Miss English is survived by her twin sister, Christine English Parker, of Danville; nieces, Brenda English,
Linda Rising, and Joan Saucier. Also, great-nephews, Jonathan Alderson, Joseph Alderson, David Rising, Jody Rising,
Jamie Rising, Joel Rising and Cody Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister,
Frances Murphy, and two half-brothers, Marvin English and Clay English.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Frederick Vicks officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive
friends at Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. before the service.
