Mr. Phillip Scott Garrett, age 55, of 833 Ridgecrest Drive, Danville, VA, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Garrett was born on January 7, 1962, in Danville, VA, to the late Joseph Kermit Garrett and Ruth Wilson Gauldin Garrett.

Mr. Garrett worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith. He loved sports, being a fan of Nascar #18, a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49er’s, and other teams such as Duke, the Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Alabama Crimson Tide.

In addition to his mother, Ruth Wilson Gauldin Garrett,  Mr. Garrett is survived by his sisters, Linda Wilson of Reidsville, NC, Joyce Tate of Danville, and Vickie Hall of Cascade; brother, Joey Garrett of Virginia Beach, VA; also, many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Bob Paddock officiating.  Family will receive friends after the service at the home of Joyce Tate, 833 Ridgecrest Drive, Danville, VA 24540.
