Raymond Harris McDaniel

Mr. Raymond Harris McDaniel, Jr. 70, of, Danville, Virginia, passed away on July 14, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, Virginia.

Mr. McDaniel was born in Danville, Virginia on September 26, 1944, to the late Raymond, Sr. and Alice Smith McDaniel.

He worked at Goodyear and owned B&D Sport Cards & Comics and was of the Holiness faith.  Raymond served his country proud in the United States Navy.  He was an avid golfer and a member of Southern Hill Golf Club and several other golf clubs.  He loved living life to the fullest but most of all he loved his family.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Barry Allan McDaniel; brothers, Charles, David, James T. McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife Virginia of 46 years of the home; Son, Brian McDaniel, wife Diana of Danville; Brother, Bobby McDaniel, and significant other, Neva of Danville; Sister, Betty Lou McGregor of Danville;  Sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Greeson of NC, Janice Ward of Oklahoma, and Terri McDaniel of Danville and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 12-2 pm prior to the service and other times at the home.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Barker Funeral Home at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Jim Reed officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia.
