Robert Lee Underwood, age 70, of 4020 Westover Dr., Lot #52, Danville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on April 12, 1946, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to Jesse Lee Underwood and Ellen Boyd Underwood.

Mr. Underwood was retired from the United States Army, where he was ranked as a SP5.

He is survived by his parents; brothers, Charles Harrison Underwood of Morehead City, NC and Jimmie Marvin Underwood and wife Linda of Front Royal, VA; and nephews, Jimmie Jr. and Daniel Underwood.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p .m. on Monday, June 06, 2016 at Danville Memorial Gardens. At other times, the family will be at his father’s residence, 4020 Westover Dr. Lot#30, Danville, VA.

Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 1097 and the United States Army.
