Mrs. Ruby Lee Waller Rich, age 83, of 227 Crestwood Dr., Danville, VA, died on June 24, 2017 at Roman Eagle Health and Rehab in Danville, Virginia.

Mrs. Rich was born on May 2, 1934, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Hattie Parker Waller and Chesley Richard Waller.  She lived all her life in Danville where she worked at Dan River Mills as a clerk. She was a member of Schoolfield Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and served as a Deacon.  Mrs. Rich was a graduate Schoolfield High School and attended Averett University.  She was also a member of the Schoolfield High School reunion group.

Mrs. Rich is survived by daughter, Susan Davis and husband Mark of Danville, VA; her son, Richard “Bill” Rich and wife Dawn of Charlotte, VA; her sister, Carolyn Miles of Danville, VA; and her grandson, Michael Young Davis.  She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Rich was predeceased by her husband, Benny Carl Rich.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Schoolfield Baptist Church with Reverend David Turbyfill officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the church. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Schoolfield Baptist Church, c/o Mary Moore 12 Schoolfield Dr., Danville, VA 24541.
