Ruby Mullis Scruggs, age 85, of 167 Dalton Street, died on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center.  Born in Taylorsville, NC on July 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert Mullis and Lacie Vickers Mullis.  She was married to Morris  Scruggs who predeceased her on September 14, 1999.  She was  active in  Central Blvd Church of God and the Sunshine Ladies.  She had worked as a telephone operator with  C&P Telephone Company, and also as a sales associate for J. T. Townes before her retirement.  She is survived by her son, Gregory M. Scruggs and his wife, Melissa, of Trinity, NC,  step-grandchildren, Courtney and Lily.  She was also survived by her sister, Vickie Berkley and her husband, Rickey;  brothers, James, Michael, Barry and Donald;  nephews, Rickey Berkley,II, and Benjamin Mullis;  nieces, Jennifer Morris, Jessica Thorne, Bendy Giddens, and Temple Mullis;  special great-niece, Brittany, and several other great-nieces and great-nephews.   Also, her long time friend, Evelyn Walker.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Mullis and her nephew Shane Mullis.  Funeral services for Mrs. Scruggs will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at  Central Blvd Church of God with Rev.
