Sharon (Bennett) Grimes

Sharon Bennett Grimes, age 59, of Keeling, VA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, March 29, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born on June 06, 1958, in Danville, VA to the late Frank Bennett and Vivian L. Bennett.

Before her retirement, Sharon worked in the Environmental Service Department at Danville Regional Medical Center, and she was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She thought the world of Pastor Mike Myers. Sharon lived a full life filled with lots of love for her family and all loved ones. She was a very loving wife and sister. Sharon spoiled and loved all her nieces and nephews like a grandmother. She will greatly be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her four sisters, Frankie King, Sandra Grimes, Dawn Mims, and Marsha Bennett; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; and special friends, Vicky Strader, Darlene Zamora, and Robin Brinkley.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, William Grimes on July 04, 2015; brother, James M. Bennett; and two nephews.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 07, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Myers officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 11644 Old Richmond Road, Keeling, VA 24566.
