Shirley Teets Taylor, age 88 of 2526 North Main St., Danville, died on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born on April 23, 1927, in Boulder Colordao, to the late Paul Teets and Elsie Dalton Teets.

Mrs. Taylor worked as a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Kansas City, MO.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamye Taylor Wright and husband, Jeff of Danville, VA; son-in-law, Tim McDowell of Forest, VA; grandchildren, Jimmie Wright (Raquel) of Richmond, VA; Jill Wright of Knoxville, Tenn.; Ben McDowell of Forest, VA; and Taylor McDowell (Steven) of Newport News, VA; and sister, Donna Wilson of Oakhurst, CA.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by her husband, James E. Taylor; daughter, Millie Taylor McDowell; brother, Delbert Teets; and sister, Pauline Boden.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 03, 2015 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. David Turbyfill officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
