Mr. Thomas Lee Scearce, age 68, of 157 Naples St., Danville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on September 4, 1947, in Danville, VA, to the late Forest Scearce and Ruby Cline Scearce.

Mr. Scearce worked as a building supply sales representative and was of the Christian faith. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Sater Scearce of the home; daughters, Monica Moore and her husband Allen of Garner, NC, Amelia Newman and her husband Alan of Sanford, NC, Amanda Whitlow and her husband Stacy of Danville, VA, Jamie Fink and her husband Troy of Fayetteville, AR, William Emerson of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Lindsey Newman, Tori Newman, Bryce Scearce, Ava Moore, Claire Moore, Caleb Moore, Cameron Fink, Kennedy Emerson, Dylan Whitlow and his wife Michaela, Haley Whitlow; Great-grandchildren, Mason Hoskins and Mia Whitlow; brothers, Frederick Scearce, Billy Scearce, and Basil Scearce.

In addition to his parents Mr. Scearce was predeceased by his brothers, Landon Scearce and Dennis Scearce.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at 212 Hampton Drive, Danville, VA.
