Mr. Victor Lee “Vic” Merchant, age 47, of 318 Cedar Brook Dr., Danville, VA, died on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on June 21, 1969, in Danville, VA, to Clara Combs Shorter, and the late Ronnie Lee Merchant.

Vic worked at Wal Mart as a stock person, and he was attending John Tyler Community College in Richmond, VA, where he was studying Mortuary Science. He was a loving father and son. Vic always had a joke for any situation and anytime, and he had a very outgoing personality. Also, he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his mother; daughter, Taylor Merchant; and brother, Brian Lee Merchant, all of the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p .m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home with. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 07, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 318 Cedarbrook Dr., Danville, VA.
