Mrs. Virginia Ann Cassada Simpkins, age 85, of Franklin Tpke, Danville, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Roman Eagle Health Memorial Home after two years of declining health. 

Born in Pittsylvania County on March 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late David Crockett Cassada and Madie Sue Cassada. On February 16, 1951, she married to Dewey Simpkins who survives her. 

Virginia was of the Pentecostal faith.  She was full of life and always had a kind word for whomever she met.  She loved her family unconditionally and her loving ways touched all those who knew her.  She never stopped doing what she loved most and that was taking care of her family and her strong faith of God. 

Virginia was predeceased by six brothers, Jones, Hugh, Coleman, Douglas, Paul and Latane, and five sisters, Flossie Davis, Waverly Scearce, Cecil Walker, Doris Perkins and Eloise Hudgins.  Survivors include her husband, Dewey, sons Keith (Pam) and Randall of Danville, one brother, Blair, of  Danville, one sister, Lois Oakes of Winston-Salem,  sister-in-law, Linda Stuart Cassada, and grandsons, Christopher Simpkins and Marcus Farthing, of Danville. 

Private graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Highland Burial Park with Rev. Barry Crumpton officiating. Barker Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Simpkins family.
