Mrs. Wanda Gail McDaniel Hodges, age 58, of 505 Elizabeth Street Extension, Danville, Virginia, died on Friday, May 27, 2016, at her home.

She was born on June 14, 1957, in Danville, Virginia, to the late James Edward McDaniel, Sr. and Jean Willis McDaniel Hundley.

Mrs. Hodges worked as an Inspector at Dan River, Inc. and was of the Baptist faith. She spent most of her life in Danville and she had been in declining health for the past three years.

She is survived by her son, Brian Hodges and his wife Cara of Danville; brother, James McDaniel and his wife Kathy of Danville; two grandchildren, Chera and Elijah Hodges; Special Aunt, Nelda Harris of Danville; and Step-father, Rev. Gilmore Hundley of Danville .

In addition to her parents Mrs. Hodges was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Hodges and her sister, Jean Lavonne Warner.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 2:00 pm, at the Hundley Family Cemetery, West Fork Road, Cascade, Virginia, with Rev. Gilmore Hundley and Rev. Tommy Willis officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, May 30, 2016, at 6 pm until 7:30 pm, at Swicegood Funeral Home. At all other times the family will be at the home of her son Brian, 840 Franklin Tpke, Danville, Virginia.
