Bettie (Milam) Worley

Bettie Milam Worley, age 88, of Danville, VA passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Sovah-Danville.

Mrs. Worley was born on October 31, 1935, in Pittsylvania County, VA, a daughter of the late Corbin Milam and Willie Odell Kersey Milam.

Mrs. Milam lived most of her life in Danville where was employed with Dan River Mills until her retirement. She was married to David Roy Worley who preceded her in death and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Milam is survived by her son, David Wayne Worley (Kathy); grandchildren, Patsy Thornton, Samantha Foster, and Kelly Worley; and great-grandchildren, Amira Raso, Riley North, Kaitlyn Foster, and Trevor Quesenberry.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Worley was predeceased by her siblings: William C. Milam, Thomas K. Milam, Mildred Hustson, and Helen Bateman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Pastor Joshua Cook officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Swicegood Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park. At other times, the family will receive family and friends at Samantha Foster’s residence, 97 Bowe Street, Danville, VA 24541.
