Betty Collins Schauffner

Betty Joan (Collins) Schauffner went to be to her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2024, after a brief illness. She was married to David Milton Schauffner, on June 27, 1953. Mr. Schauffner passed away on January 14th, 1998, after 44 years of marriage.

Mrs. Schauffner was also predeceased by her Father, James Edward Collins; her Mother, Jessie Marie Collins Headley Greathouse; her brothers James Edward Collins Jr, Thomas Michael Headley, all of West Virginia; her brother William J “Skip” Headley of Danville, VA; and her sister Carroll Sue (Collins) Miller of Pompano Beach, FL.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Marie (Schauffner) Goben and her husband, Robert G. Goben, of New Orleans, La.; one sister, Shelby Elaine Headley of Danville, VA; and one brother, Bradley Raymond Headley and wife Debbie of Ocala, FL.

Survivors also include her nieces, Sheila M (Miller) Parsons, Stephanie J Miller, Diana L (Miller) Saadoun, Ginger M (Headley) Pruitt; and her nephews, Paul Edward Miller, Jeston M Headley, Travis A Headley and William C (Chris) Headley. She is also survived by 10 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 3 great grandnieces and 8 great grand nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00pm at Swicegood Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
