John Henry Boyd

John Henry Boyd, 63, passed away on March 11, 2024 at Sovah Health, Danville.

Born on July 24, 1960 in Danville, Virginia, he was the son on Alfred Curtis Boyd Sr. and Mary Myers Boyd.

John spent 30 years making a career driving a truck, he loved driving a truck. He drove over a million miles and touched 48 states and Canada.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his brother, Alfred Curtis Boyd Jr. (Debbie) of Danville; his sister, Freida Gilbert (Mike) of Martinsville; his wife of 20 years, Pam Boyd; his daughters, Amanda Williams (Lynn), Moriah Light (Patrick) all of Danville, Kristen Gonzalez (Kevin) of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Arsenal, Kimber, Benelli and Daisy Williams all of Danville, and Judah Gonzalez of Florida.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Alfred Curtis Boyd Sr. and Mary Myers Boyd.

John loved his daughters very much. He enjoyed taking them out to “sneak” a treat when they were younger.
His love for his grandchildren was abundantly clear. They were his heart and world. He loved doing homework with them and taking them to Sweet Frog.

A memorial service will be held at Swicegood Funeral Home on West Main Street on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 4:00pm for visitation and 5:00pm for the service.
