Paul Thomas Gammon, 63, entered his heavenly home surrounded by his family on April 11, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Gammon was born in Danville, VA to his late parents Sarah Perkins Gammon and Paul “Pete” Gammon. He was the devoted owner of Diesel Engine and Equipment Repair which he created in 1997. He was the former fire chief of Brosville and Blairs Fire Department where he devoted many years helping and teaching others. Paul was a master mechanic and wrecker operator and many will remember his advice and knowledge he passed down to so many. Paul was known for his love of all of his furbabies.
Mr. Gammon is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Sharon Bell Gammon. He is also survived by his two sons, Timothy Paul Gammon (Amber) and William Thomas Gammon (Cevanna) and his beloved fur babies Ellie Mae, Doodles, Izzy, Minnie Pearl, Daisy Mae, and Fred and his two beloved fur-grandbabies Lilly and Sadie. He was survived by his sister D’Atte Mayberry (Jeff), mother-in-love Jo Ann Bell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Sarah Perkins Gammon and Paul “Pete” Gammon, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday April 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Swicegood Funeral Home. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. At other times, the family will receive visitors at the residence. Private burial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local volunteer fire department.
