Sandra Kay Hyler

Sandra Kay Hyler, age 65, of Richmond, Virginia, took her first steps down the streets of gold on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Johnston Willis Hospital.

She was born on December 23, 1958 in Danville, Virginia the daughter of Ernestine Hill Emerson who survives and Herman Lee Hyler who preceded her in death in 2002.

Sandra moved to Richmond in 1983 and lived there until her passing. When Sandra was about 10, she started singing gospel music and traveled from Maryland to West Virginia and the mountains. She then recorded 3 albums when she was 13. Sandra never walked here on earth but she is walking down Heavens Boulevard.  

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Randall Hyler and wife, Kim; niece, Alexis Hyler and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sandra will be laid to rest in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with a private ceremony. At other times, the family will be at her mother’s residence, 3505 Mt. Cross Rd. Danville, VA.
