Mrs. Barbara Jean Massie Phillips, age 77, of 122 Short Road, Providence, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Phillips was born on June 16, 1939, in Danville, VA, to the late James B. Massie and Sarah Whitt Massie.

Mrs. Phillips was owner of P&P Home Improvement. Had worked at 86 Express Mart and a full-time homemaker. She practiced the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her children, Debra Phillips, Charles Phillips, Jr. (Barbara Jo), Rodney Phillips (Pam), Robin Wood (Darron); eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Campbell (Roy); brothers, James B. Massie (Lisa) and Tony Massie; also, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Edward Phillips, Sr.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 between 6pm until 8pm at Swicegood Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted April 29, 2017at 2pm in the Phillips Family Cemetery on Phillips Road, Providence, N.C.
