Calton N. Weatherford

Mr. Calton N. Weatherford, Sr., age 85, of Danville, VA, passed away on March 30, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.

Mr. Weatherford was born on March 5, 1934, in Danville, VA, to the late Charlie Thomas Weatherford and Nellie Apple Weatherford. He later married Ruby Perdue Weatherford who preceded him in death. He was employed at Dan River Mills and was a tobacco farmer. Calton was also a member of Vandola Baptist Church. He liked to watch baseball on TV and attend Virginia Tech football games; he was a huge Virginia Tech fan. He also participated in church and senior citizen activities in the community.

Mr. Calton N. Weatherford is survived by his sons, Calton W. Weatherford (Arlene), Carlton N. Weatherford, Sr. (Donna); grandchildren, Amanda Weatherford Pallone (Ryan), Stephanie Weatherford, Chad Weatherford (Anna) Carlton Weatherford, Jr. (Sonya), Carla Weatherford Marshall (Dustin), Cara Weatherford; great-grandchild, Grayson Eli Camp.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Mr. Weatherford was predeceased by his son, Christopher “Tim”  Weatherford;  and brothers and sisters, Edna Weatherford Dalton, Charles T. Weatherford, Ophelia Weatherford Murphy, Connie Weatherford Young and Warren L. Weatherford.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Bortz officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at 4054 Keswick Drive, Danville, VA, 24540. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
