Carroll "Clint" Adkins

Carroll Clinton Adkins, age 76, of 492 Jeanett Drive, Danville, VA, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at his residence.  He was born on April 14, 1942 in Danville, VA to Cal and Louise Adkins.  He lived most of his life in Pittsylvania County.   He graduated from Whitmell Farm Life High School, DCC, and the General Motors Training Center.  He was employed with Wyatt Buick Sales Company as a service technician for 43 years.  He was a member of  Hope Church.  On September 4, 1965 he married Carolyn Todd Adkins, who survives.  Other survivors include his daughter, Holley A. McBride (Chuck),  two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sydney McBride,  one sister, Carolyn A. Adkins (Earnest),  and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents and one infant brother.  We would like to thank Dr. Gai,  Dr. Akinleye  and the staff of Sovah Cancer Center – Medical Oncology & Hematology;  and we would like to thank the technicians at Danville Imaging Center and Dr. Stephen V. Davis.  We would also like to thank the employees of Liberty Hospice for the outstanding care and support they gave Clint and the family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Edwards officiating.  Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one  hour prior to the service.   Barker Funeral Home of 2025 North Main Street, Danville, VA, 24540, is respectfully serving the Adkins family  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Danville-Pittsylvania County Cancer association, 2223 Riverview Drive, Danville, VA, 24541
