Carson Adkins, 76 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord at his home in Danville, VA on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
He was raised in Pelham, NC the son of the late Sidney and Geneva Adkins.
Before his retirement, Carson worked at Dan River Mills for 47 years and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a very patient and loving man who loved the outdoors, gardening, being in the woods, and taking pictures. Carson had a passion for keeping a log on the weather conditions happening locally.
Carson was a hard worker who provided for and raised three children. He loved spending time with his family.
He leaves behind one brother, Bobby Adkins; his wife of 54 years, Nadean Adkins; children, Bill Adkins (wife, Kathy); Connie High (husband, Edward); and Ben Adkins (wife, Monica); eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; his beloved cat, Garfield; and many other family and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brian Edwards officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p .m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
