Cathy Sue Barber, age 54, of 987 Lovelace Rd., Pelham N.C., passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center, after a courage battle with cancer.

Cathy was born on August 23, 1962, in Danville Va., to Swanson Barber and Ruby Bailey Barber.

She worked as a security guard and was of the Baptist faith.

 In addition, to her parents Cathy is survived by her children: Chasity Swann, of Yanceyville N.C. and Jessica Swann, of Pelham, N. C.; grandchildren: Ethan Swann, Dylan Root and Codey Gump; sister, Pam Barber, of Danville Va.; brother Michael Barber of Providence N.C.; and for the past 20 years fiancé, Mark Lloyd IV, of Danville Va.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Shady Oak Baptist Church, Providence N. C. with Rev. Kenneth Hammock officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at her parent’s residence, 387 Shady Grove Rd. Pelham N.C.
