Cecil E. Lackey

Cecil E. Lackey, 93, of Sutherlin, VA went home to be with the Lord on March 05, 2019.

He was born in Henry County, VA on April 03, 1925 to the late Henry Lackey and the Late Nora Lackey. Cecil served in the United States Army in WWII, where he received three bronze stars. He was a member of Lakewood Community Church.

Cecil was predeceased by two sisters, Beatrice Setliff and Lorraine Lackey; five brothers, Charlie, Roy, Elmer, Grady, and Leslie Lackey.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Lackey; three sons, Rev. Cletus Lackey, Tom Lackey, and Bruce Lackey; three daughters, Alvina Rea, Aileen Kendrick, and Vickie Utt; and step-son, Ronnie McDaniel. He had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank his special caregivers from Commonwealth Hospice, Sandra Wilson, Carolyn Holland, and Rev. Daryl Joyce.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 07, 2019 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Cletus Lackey and Rev. Ryan Call officiating. The family will receive friends at 7471 South Boston Hwy, Sutherlin, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department, 3880 Tom Fork Rd, Ringgold, VA 24586.

Military Honors will be provided for by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 1097.
